October 2016 Conclave National Awardees:

Chums’ National Project Committee, chaired by Chum Shirley Dobie, recommended and approved by the National Board, donated to the National African American Museum, Black and Missing Foundation, BackPack Program (Harvest Hope Food Bank), Sickle Cell of America, Boys and Girls Club, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a total of $10,000.

Chums National Scholarship Committee also submitted a recommendation for our $5,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior that the New York (NY) Chapter endorsed and who will be attending the University of Michigan, College of Engineering.

During the year the Chum Chapters contributed $126,392.20 to various non-profit organizations in their communities, volunteered over 14,408 hours and 60 scholarships in funds or in-kind donations.

given for the year included Black and Missing Foundation, No Kids Hungry, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America and Boys and Girls Club of America, totaling 
$15,000
 and the National Founders Scholarship Donation for 
$5,000.


Chums’ local chapters were very busy in their communities with 19,473 hours of volunteer work, giving 45 scholarships to their area young citizens and contributing $130,575.83 to various activities that cater to our theme "Listen to the children"…enrich their lives.
