President’s Message

It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as the 21st National President of Chums, Inc. I step into this role with pride and anticipation. Chums, Inc. is a small elite national 501c3 organization that was founded in 1946 and incorporated in 1952. Our rich heritage keeps us focused on our mission to serve. Our size allows us to build and nurture a strong sisterhood.

Our mission to serve drives us, motivates us, and gives meaning to our work. We provide cultural activities for our members and their communities; we promote charitable, educational, and religious programs to improve civic and social relations. We actively seek to establish chapters across the United States to advance these goals for current and future generations.

This is a promise we make to ourselves, to each other, and to the people we serve. It’s a reminder that what we do matters and that we have the power to make a real difference in our communities.  Living up to that isn’t always easy. It requires us to think big, take risks, and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones. It requires us to be resilient when faced with setbacks and learn from our failures as much as our successes. Although our communities may have changed, the needs haven’t. Our commitment to serve stands strong.

I look forward to working with my Chum sisters to do what Chums do best: serve our communities and enrich the lives of children.  We must work together. No one person, no matter how talented or dedicated, can achieve our mission alone. We need each other to challenge us, support us, and remind us of why we do what we do. As we move forward, I challenge each of you to think about how you can use your unique skills and talents to contribute to our collective mission.
